Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Harbour by David Wu Ject-Key was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,637.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wu Ject-Key achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies Under The Pine in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 84,498.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Harbour von David Wu Ject-Key im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.637,90) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wu Ject-Key erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ladies Under The Pine im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 84.498,73).
