Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Woodlock could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian & Traditionalist Art auction, the work An old cottage near Church Stretton, Shropshire changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,409.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Woodlock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Landscape Painter in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,170.33).

In der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Art wechselte die Arbeit An old cottage near Church Stretton, Shropshire für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.409,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Woodlock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Landscape Painter im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.170,33).
