Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Three Happy Jumbos and Friends, the Luangwa Valley National Park in Zambia by David Shepherd. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,920.00 (€ 20,907.21), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David Shepherd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work After the Rains - Evening in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 115,250.00 (€ 142,135.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Happy Jumbos and Friends, the Luangwa Valley National Park in Zambia von David Shepherd zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.920,00 (€ 20.907,21) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Shepherd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit After the Rains - Evening in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 115.250,00 (€ 142.135,26).
