In March this year Bonhams held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Bull Elephant by David Shepherd. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,153.91), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Shepherd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work After the Rains - Evening in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 115,250.00 (€ 142,135.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bull Elephant von David Shepherd zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.153,91) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Shepherd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit After the Rains - Evening in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 115.250,00 (€ 142.135,26).
