Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by David Paton was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and auction at Christies in London in November 2005. The price achieved of GBP 456.00 (€ 669.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Paton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Sir Robert Dashwood, 1St Bt. (1662-1734), Circa 1690 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,707.38).
