In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Sir William Scott Bt.(1647-1725), son of Sir Francis Scott of Thirelstone and Lady Henrietta Scott, in lace cravat, curling wig by David Paton for GBP 375.00 (€ 404.38). This price was achieved in the auction The Sunday Sale - Property of the Late Monty Lewis, removed from Hyver Manor & Property of the Late Dr. William Lindsaygordon at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 900.00 set by the aucti Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Paton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Sir Robert Dashwood, 1St Bt. (1662-1734), Circa 1690 in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,707.38).
