Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California, which included the work Group Of Six Sculptures, 1978-87 by David Gilhooly. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,120.00 (€ 5,286.34). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Gilhooly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Group of seventeen sculptures, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,715.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California durch, in der auch die Arbeit Group Of Six Sculptures, 1978-87 von David Gilhooly zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.120,00 (€ 5.286,34) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von David Gilhooly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Group of seventeen sculptures beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.715,69) versteigert wurde.
