Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait as Raisin Toast, 1983 by David Gilhooly was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,309.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Gilhooly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Group of seventeen sculptures in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,715.69).
