It achieved a price of USD 8,925.00 (€ 7,709.25), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Gilhooly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Group of seventeen sculptures, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,715.69).

Die Arbeit Group Of Nine Sculptures, 1977-88 von David Gilhooly wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 7.709,25) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Für andere Arbeiten von David Gilhooly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Group of seventeen sculptures beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.715,69) versteigert wurde.
