Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California, which included the work Group Of Five Sculptures, 1978-90 by David Gilhooly. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,737.50 (€ 4,955.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Gilhooly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Group of seventeen sculptures, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,715.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California durch, in der auch die Arbeit Group Of Five Sculptures, 1978-90 von David Gilhooly zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.737,50 (€ 4.955,95) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Gilhooly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Group of seventeen sculptures beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.715,69) versteigert wurde.
