This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction, the work Early Morning, Sainte-Maxime sold for GBP 20,899,500.00 (€ 24,347,686.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Hockney; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nichols Canyon sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hockney erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Early Morning, Sainte-Maxime für GBP 20.899.500,00 (€ 24.347.686,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Hockney; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
