Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,708.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David George Steell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highland Cattle by Loch Striven, Strathclyde, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.18).
