Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Sitting on the master's chair by David George Steell. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,655.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David George Steell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highland Cattle by Loch Striven, Strathclyde, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sitting on the master's chair von David George Steell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.655,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David George Steell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Highland Cattle by Loch Striven, Strathclyde beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.479,18) versteigert wurde.
