This artwork by David Deutsch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in July 2019. In the Colossal! Monumental Works from the 1980s auction, the work Untitled (Venice Lake) sold for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,144.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Deutsch; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Innovative Landscape #23 sold at auction in April 2008 with the realized price of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,219.04).
