Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Travellers beside hay stooks with a castle on a hill beyond by David Cox Jnr. The price achieved of GBP 376.00 (€ 597.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Cox Jnr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Seine, Paris in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).

Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Travellers beside hay stooks with a castle on a hill beyond von David Cox Jnr zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 376,00 (€ 597,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Cox Jnr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Seine, Paris im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.684,44).
