Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Cox Jnr could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work Cattle being herded over a bridge in a mountainous landscape changed hands for GBP 117.50 (€ 186.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Cox Jnr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Seine, Paris in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).
