Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Cox Jnr could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the At Home - British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Driving Cattle Across A Bridge In A Mountainous Landscape changed hands for GBP 131.45 (€ 189.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Cox Jnr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Seine, Paris in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).
