This artwork by David Cobb achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2005. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work The mountains of Mourne, Northern Ireland sold for GBP 600.00 (€ 884.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Cobb; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Where the Mountains of Mourne, sweep down to the Sea', Northern Ireland, British Railways sold at auction in May 2002 with the realized price of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,380.05).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Cobb erzielte im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures wurde die Arbeit The mountains of Mourne, Northern Ireland für GBP 600,00 (€ 884,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Cobb; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'Where the Mountains of Mourne, sweep down to the Sea', Northern Ireland, British Railways im Mai 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.380,05).
