In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work 'Where the Mountains of Mourne, sweep down to the Sea', Northern Ireland, British Railways by David Cobb. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 881.25 (€ 1,380.05), 26% above the upper estimate. With this result, 'Where the Mountains of Mourne, sweep down to the Sea', Northern Ireland, British Railways is even the most expensive work of art by David Cobb that we have observed at auctions so far.
