Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Chapple achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the California Art auction, the work Sunlit Cove sold for USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,143.16) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Chapple; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Canyon de Chelly sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of USD 12,112.50 (€ 11,495.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Chapple erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California Art wurde die Arbeit Sunlit Cove für USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.143,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Chapple; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Canyon de Chelly im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 12.112,50 (€ 11.495,21).
