Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Chapple achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. In the Western Art auction, the work Canyon de Chelly sold for USD 12,112.50 (€ 11,495.21) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Chapple; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sunlit Cove sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,548.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Chapple erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Western Art wurde die Arbeit Canyon de Chelly für USD 12.112,50 (€ 11.495,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Chapple; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sunlit Cove im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.548,91).
