Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Man And Rooster) by David Butler was sold in the Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver, Prints and auction at Christies in New York in January 2004. The price achieved of USD 2,629.00 (€ 2,111.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Butler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walking Stick with Figure, circa 1975 in February last year with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,684.25).
