Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work The Ballad Of The Foxhunter: I, Ii, Iii, Iv by David Alexander Colville for CAD 7,800.00 (€ 5,684.32). This price was achieved in the auction Important Canadian Art at Sothebys in Toronto and was even below the estimate range of CAD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Alexander Colville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman, Jockey And Horse in November 2011 with an auction result of CAD 370,500.00 (€ 270,005.35).
