Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Alexander Colville could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Border Collie; Cormorant changed hands for CAD 4,500.00 (€ 3,279.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Alexander Colville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman, Jockey And Horse in November 2011 with an auction result of CAD 370,500.00 (€ 270,005.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Alexander Colville konnte im November 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wechselte die Arbeit Border Collie; Cormorant für CAD 4.500,00 (€ 3.279,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Alexander Colville erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman, Jockey And Horse im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 370.500,00 (€ 270.005,35).
