In July 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Woman Bathing by Darío Morales. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,986.58) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Darío Morales - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mujer lavandose los pies, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 45,825.00 (€ 48,009.43).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman Bathing von Darío Morales zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.986,58) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Darío Morales mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mujer lavandose los pies beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 45.825,00 (€ 48.009,43) versteigert wurde.
