In December this year Christies in London held the auction Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I, which included the work Midas Head by Elisabeth Frink. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 69,300.00 (€ 79,830.94), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elisabeth Frink achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seated Man in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,082,500.00 (€ 1,352,531.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Midas Head von Elisabeth Frink zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 79.830,94) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elisabeth Frink erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seated Man im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.082.500,00 (€ 1.352.531,96).
