Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian The Wounded Painting That Tempted To Look Into The Mirror Behind The Artist'S Back - Why Women Are Not Artists by Dale Frank. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 21,600.00 (€ 12,222.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dale Frank - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eddie T Chest the Man with a Cricket Bat Shaped Penis Helping Men Manage Their Responsibilities (The Gulf), 1997-2000, which sold at auction in November 2021 for AUD 34,440.00 (€ 30,512.98).

Im Mai 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian The Wounded Painting That Tempted To Look Into The Mirror Behind The Artist'S Back - Why Women Are Not Artists von Dale Frank zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 21.600,00 (€ 12.222,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
