Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Dai Dunbang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Portrait of Cao Xueqin sold for HKD 163,800.00 (€ 19,804.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dai Dunbang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Luohans, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 70,931.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dai Dunbang erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Cao Xueqin für HKD 163.800,00 (€ 19.804,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dai Dunbang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Luohans beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 70.931,09) versteigert wurde.
