Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three shells and two ceramic bowls by Cristoforo Munari was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in October 2006. The price achieved of USD 84,000.00 (€ 65,763.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cristoforo Munari - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Natura Morta Con Pesce, Brocca Di Vetro, Pezzo Di Carne Su Foglio Di Carta, Cavolo, Orcio Di Rame, Mortaio Con Pestello, Fiasco Di Vino, Piatti, Pesce, Mele E Arancia, which sold at auction in May 2007 for EUR 222,000.00.
