In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work The Death of Ananias and Saphira by Cristofano Roncalli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 84,000.00 (€ 68,021.70), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by Cristofano Roncalli have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 76,384.80) in December 2015 for the work The Madonna And Child On A Crescent Moon.
