Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rhenish Landscapes by Cornelis Verdonck was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2001. The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,927.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Verdonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Rhenish river landscape with a ferry and other boats, a town beyond, which sold at auction in May 2007 for EUR 11,400.00.
