Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A landscape during the vendage, a castle in the foreground by Cornelis Verdonck was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2002. The price achieved of EUR 4,541.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Verdonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Rhenish river landscape with a ferry and other boats, a town beyond, which sold at auction in May 2007 for EUR 11,400.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 4.541,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Verdonck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Rhenish river landscape with a ferry and other boats, a town beyond beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für EUR 11.400,00 versteigert wurde.
