The work River Landscape With A Thatched Cottage by Cornelis van der Schalcke was sold in the Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in March 2007. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,080.00 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis van der Schalcke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Egmond aan Zee, a horsedrawn carriage, a woman selling fish, and other figures along the beach in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,170.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit River Landscape With A Thatched Cottage von Cornelis van der Schalcke wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.080,00 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis van der Schalcke erzielen.
