The work Portrait of a lady, believed to be Anna de Bourgeois (d. 1636), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black dress with a fan by Cornelis de Vos was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2018. The result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,704.43) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis de Vos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a black dress with gold embroidery and a ruff, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 170,500.00 (€ 215,054.11).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, believed to be Anna de Bourgeois (d. 1636), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black dress with a fan von Cornelis de Vos kam im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.704,43) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis de Vos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a black dress with gold embroidery and a ruff beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 170.500,00 (€ 215.054,11) versteigert wurde.
