Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Peaches, grapes, oranges, a partially peeled lemon, medlars and other fruit on a two-tiered stone ledge, with nuts, a grasshopper and a butterfly before a niche by Cornelis de Heem. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,937.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis de Heem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of Roses, Poppies, Lillies And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase On A Marble Shelf; Beneath A Partly Peeled Orange And Fraises De Bois In A Wan Li Porcelain Dish, Both On A Projecting Marble Ledge in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 749,000.00 (€ 554,814.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peaches, grapes, oranges, a partially peeled lemon, medlars and other fruit on a two-tiered stone ledge, with nuts, a grasshopper and a butterfly before a niche von Cornelis de Heem zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Still Life Of Roses, Poppies, Lillies And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase On A Marble Shelf; Beneath A Partly Peeled Orange And Fraises De Bois In A Wan Li Porcelain Dish, Both On A Projecting Marble Ledge im Januar 2014
