It achieved a price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Christiaan Dommersen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch The Harbour Of Antwerp With A View From The Left Bank Over The River Scheldt And The Onze Lieve Vrouw Cathedral In The Background in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 29,050.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rough weather on the Zuider Zee before Elburg, Holland von Cornelis Christiaan Dommersen wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.182,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Christiaan Dommersen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch The Harbour Of Antwerp With A View From The Left Bank Over The River Scheldt And The Onze Lieve Vrouw Cathedral In The Background im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 29.050,00.
