The work Dutch A View Of An Amsterdam Canal, Possibly The Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, With The Nieuwe Lutherse Kerk And The Westertoren In The Distance by Cornelis Christiaan Dommersen was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings and Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in December 2009. The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Christiaan Dommersen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch The Harbour Of Antwerp With A View From The Left Bank Over The River Scheldt And The Onze Lieve Vrouw Cathedral In The Background in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 29,050.00.
