Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grazing Cows by Constant Troyon was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,870.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Constant Troyon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French a Seated Basset Hound (Un Basset Artésian Normand, Assis) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 49,706.49).
