Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A bustling market at the city walls, Naples by Consalvo Carelli was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art auction at Christies in London in April 2011. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,393.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Consalvo Carelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Napoli, veduta del Golfo in December 2001 with an auction result of ITL 29,400,000.00 (€ 26,424.00).
