Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd, which included the work Wildfowl in the broad, Somerton by Colin W. Burns. The price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,946.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Colin W. Burns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woodcock And Pheasant Driven Of The Covert, Thetford, Norfolk in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,597.83).
