Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Mensen Op Portiek (People On Portico) by Co Westerik. The price achieved of EUR 47,100.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Co Westerik - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Zonnebader, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 144,000.00 (€ 107,671.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mensen Op Portiek (People On Portico) von Co Westerik zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 47.100,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Co Westerik mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Zonnebader beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 144.000,00 (€ 107.671,60) versteigert wurde.
