Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Cotton Gin by Clementine Hunter was sold in the First Open auction at Christies in New York in August 2020. The price achieved of USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,979.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Clementine Hunter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Clementine In Her Flower Garden, 1984 in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,782.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Cotton Gin von Clementine Hunter wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion First Open bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.979,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clementine Hunter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Clementine In Her Flower Garden, 1984 im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.782,04).
