A top price for Claude-Louis Desrais - as previously expected
The work Monsieur Mesmer'S Baquet by Claude-Louis Desrais was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,491.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Monsieur Mesmer'S Baquet is the most expensive artwork by Claude-Louis Desrais that we have observed at auctions so far.
