Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lawn Mowing by Claude Flight was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,423.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Flight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swimming: The Start of the Race in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 131,250.00 (€ 156,120.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lawn Mowing von Claude Flight im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 4.423,53) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Flight erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swimming: The Start of the Race im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.250,00 (€ 156.120,41).
