Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Into the Sea by Claude Flight was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,839.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Flight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swimming: The Start of the Race in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 131,250.00 (€ 156,120.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Into the Sea von Claude Flight kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.839,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Flight erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swimming: The Start of the Race im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.250,00 (€ 156.120,41).
