Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Portrait of Everard Calthrop, seated half-length, in a sailor's uniform by Claude Andrew Calthrop. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,497.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Claude Andrew Calthrop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Louise Calthrop, seated three-quarter-length, in a black dress, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,762.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Everard Calthrop, seated half-length, in a sailor's uniform von Claude Andrew Calthrop zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.497,06) einen neuen Besitzer.
