This artwork by Claude Shepperson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2004. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction, the work The fairy dance sold for GBP 717.00 (€ 1,014.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Claude Shepperson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Take A Kodak With You sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,792.50).
