In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Hudson River Boats by Clarence K. Chatterton. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Clarence K. Chatterton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fair Days in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 97,000.00 (€ 66,040.31).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hudson River Boats von Clarence K. Chatterton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarence K. Chatterton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fair Days im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 97.000,00 (€ 66.040,31).
