In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work A village seen across a canal, peasants approaching a bridge over a tributary in the foreground by Claes Jansz. Visscher. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,693.66), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Jansz. Visscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Karthuizer Klooster, Amsterdam, With A Small Lock In The Foreground in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 145,500.00.

Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A village seen across a canal, peasants approaching a bridge over a tributary in the foreground von Claes Jansz. Visscher zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.693,66) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Jansz. Visscher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Karthuizer Klooster, Amsterdam, With A Small Lock In The Foreground im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 145.500,00.
