This artwork by Chui Pui Chee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February 2021. In the Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Nine Abysses Xiv sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,596.01) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chui Pui Chee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot There’s the Snow Again VI sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,994.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chui Pui Chee erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Nine Abysses Xiv für HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.596,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Chui Pui Chee; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit There’s the Snow Again VI im Mai 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.994,79).
